Newbury Street Practice Busy/Quieter Times

This is just a guide and we hope will make it easier for patients to decide on a time to call in to speak to reception, a secretary or a GP.

Mornings before 10.30am, and Mondays (or the day after a bank holiday) all day are the busiest times for our phone lines. 

Ringing for results – ideally call after 12pm.  

Referrals – if you need to speak to someone regarding a referral then please ring reception on the usual number and ask to speak to the secretary.  If the secretary is not available they have an answer machine so please be prepared to leave a message with your name, date of birth and contact number.  The secretary will then contact you when the message is picked up. 

Enquiries re notes or Insurance Reports – The Admin team deal with these, so please phone between 10.30am and 3.30pm. 

Prescriptions Queries – please ring 01235 763451 and press option 3, they have an answer machine, please leave a message with name, date of birth and contact number they will get back to you. Please be aware that repeat requests are not taken over the phone as the risk of mistakes is too great. You can email requests for medication to dispensary on
