Newbury Street Practice - Mind Wellbeing Worker
Newbury Street Practice have a Wellbeing Worker with Oxfordshire Mind’s Primary Care Team. Oxfordshire Mind is a mental health and wellbeing charity, and we run a wellbeing service through GP practices in Oxfordshire. I currently work with patients from Newbury Street Practice on Mondays and Friday mornings.
My role in appointments is to offer signposting to services, resources, and if appropriate work on goal-setting. This is not a clinical or a crisis service and we cannot offer therapy, counselling or diagnoses, but we can signpost patients on to therapy and counselling.
We take clients from the age of 16 years and up. Our criteria for referral is quite broad, as we accept anyone with any form of mental health or wellbeing issue. The service works best for individuals who want to learn more about specific services and support they can access, or who want support to reach their goals, and are sufficiently able to engage.
I can offer up to 6 sessions to patients on a short-term basis. Patients who have previously accessed the service can be re-referred if the problem is significantly different from the original referral problem.
Currently we are working entirely remotely, but we are looking to offer a mixed offering of face-to-face and telephone appointments going forwards.
For referral , please speak to your GP.
