What can Pharmacy First do?

The following 7 common conditions can be treated by a participating pharmacy without the need for an appointment or prescription (please note the ages and restrictions of each service):

Shingles ü 18 years and over

û Under 18's

û Pregnant

û Severely immunocompromised

û Shingles in the eye

Sinusitis ü 12 years and over

û Under 12's 

û Pregnant individuals under 16

û Chrinic sinusitis (had over 12 weeks)

û Immunocompromised

Sore throat ü 5 years and over

û Under 5's

û Pregnant individuals under 16

Uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women ü 16 to 64 years

û Under 16 or 65 and over

û Male

û Pregnant

û Breastfeeding

û Immunocompromised

û Recurrent UTI's (2 in last 6 months/3 in last 12 months)

û UTI treated with antibiotics in last 3 months

By thinking ‘Pharmacy First’, you will find it easier and quicker to get the help you need without having to contact your GP surgery first. This new service is part of a wider expansion of healthcare to give you more choice.
