Dry January

Dry January is an annual challenge that encourages people to give up alcohol for the entire month of January. It has gained widespread popularity in recent years as individuals look to kickstart their year with a focus on health, detoxification, and self-care. Originating as a campaign by Alcohol Concern in 2013, it has grown into a global movement, with millions of people participating each year.

February 2025

National Heart Month

National Heart Month, observed throughout February, is dedicated to raising awareness about heart health and the importance of preventing heart disease. This month encourages people to take proactive steps toward maintaining a healthy heart, from eating a balanced diet and exercising regularly to understanding risk factors and seeking medical advice. Cardiovascular diseases, including heart disease and stroke, remain a leading cause of death globally, making National Heart Month an essential time for education, awareness, and lifestyle changes.

Oesophageal Cancer Awareness Month

Oesophageal Cancer Awareness Month, observed every February, is dedicated to raising awareness about oesophageal cancer, a condition that affects the oesophagus, the tube that carries food from the mouth to the stomach. This month aims to educate the public on the symptoms, risk factors, and the critical importance of early detection in improving survival rates. Oesophageal cancer often develops without clear symptoms in its early stages, which is why awareness and education are key in helping people recognise warning signs and seek treatment promptly.
